Yakuza is a transmedial game that brings the realness of the streets on to the Internet. By putting up your personal stickers you compete with others in the chase for street and Internet supremacy. By "defeating" other players' stickers with text messages and putting your own stickers on top of them you conquer the streets. The actions of "defeating" other players' stickers are visible on the game-website where scores and statistics are shown through a fictive city map.

The game brings street art into digital gaming through the use of stickers. Since the players get to design their own stickers it also works as a tool for communication to people who are not part of the game. All stickers have unique identification numbers and as the game is played it is this unique number that players in the game text message when they want to "defeat" an opponent's sticker.
