During a 2 week workshop called designing desire (held by Livia Sunesson and Magnus Torstensson) I was exploring different brainstorming and bodystorming techniques. The theme for the workshop was mobile phones, an area I'm very intrested in. After a week of bodystorming and brainstorming I created a prototype called Man's best friend.
Man's best friend is a new neccessity in the everyday life, giving the user an opportunity to take care of his/her mobile phone in more emotional and physical ways. As an accessory for the mobile phone, the idea behind Man's best friend emerged from hair perfectionism and removal. In western culture the hair styles changes often and these trends will be possible to follow with Man's best friend. People in different subcultures can use Man's best friend for identification and provokation. In other areas of the world, Jamaica for example, the way of showing your cultural identity could be to grow dreadlocks on Man's best friend. More photos of Man's best friend can be found here |
